CHRIS VOLKART
Addiction Recovery Coaching
hOW I WORK
My skillset combines a unique blend of experience drawn from my years adventuring/guiding people in the mountains, exploring shadows in men’s work and years of experience working at an adventure and wilderness based addiction treatment center for young men.
After going through my own struggles with addiction, navigating betrayal trauma with my partner and the journey of fatherhood I have a lived and embodied understanding of what Challenges men are going through in their life. Life often echo’s the wild spaces of our planet, let me guide you back to your trail and offer you skills needed to THRIVE in your internal wilderness.
My goal with coaching is to create a safe container for men to explore and understand the depth of their light and dark parts and reconcile the two in order to harness the power from within.
About Me
I am a husband, father of 2 boys and passionate about being in wild spaces and using the tools of adventure to better understand myself and the way I move through the world.
I have years of experience working at a residential treatment center for young men struggling with addiction. Here we heavily relied on the tools of wilderness and adventure to explore our addiction and shift our default behaviors to conscious behaviors that help us in recovery.
I am currently working towards my recovery coach accreditation from The Accredited Recovery Coaches of Canada
I am a Captain with the Arka Brotherhood men’s group and run a weekly meeting in Powell River, Canada.
